Bio

Ok, I have left this bio as a nonspecific lazy one-sentence for too long.
Hi, I'm Reggie! If you know who the guy in the pic above is, then you and I will probably get along swimmingly :) If you don't, or if you have unfortunately caught amnesia, it is Joss Whedon, writer/creator of such things as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly/Serenity, Dr Horrible and Dollhouse. Yes, I count myself among his crazy fans. Can I help it if I like quality writing, developed characters and original plotlines?

I am not solely dedicated to Mr Whedon, though. I also love his brothers Jed and Zach.

No, seriously, I enjoy other things. Like anime/manga, my favorites being Full Metal Alchemist, Fairy Tale, Soul Eater, Code Geass, and, yes, I must confess, Naruto. I also have a strong love for the graphic novel Watchmen. And I read webcomics. Lots and lots of webcomics. I like scifi and war stories, as well as some fantasy and the occasional love story. I am sort of a political buff, and my views are unabashedly liberal. Though it's not perfect, I have a lot of affection for the current American administration, and I can be seen on ontd_p and rahmbamarama fangirling over the prez, the Chief of Staff and other lolitical figures. Other miscellanious things I like include Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Battlestar Galactica, Avatar the Last Airbender, Glee, Dexter, and Monty Python's Flying Circus. I like music (who doesn't?). I prefer songs over artists or genres, but some of my favorite bands are Barenaked Ladies, Coldplay, The Beatles, A Perfect Circle, My Chemical Romance, Ingrid Michaelson, Owl City, Three Days Grace, A.R. Rahman, Poe, Alexisonfire and Fall Out Boy.

Likes: sugar, hot showers, singing along, teh intarwebs, chocolate, Italian food, road trips, characters with tragic pasts, staying up late, shipping, rain

Dislikes: excessive bravado, spicy things, fake tits, FOX news, homophobia, lice, fundamentalist Christianity, mustard, makeup

Personal info: I am a single bisexual with a dirty mind who loves porn almost as much as story. I have a bit of a fucking potty mouth, though I'm not usually overly profane. Born and raised in California (though with relatives all over the country and a car trip-inclined family, I'm well-traveled) and love it here, despite Prop 8. I'm a freshman in college, living in the dorms, with a mom, dad, and little sister an hour and a half away. I am a perspective film major. My goal and dream is to become a well-known writer/creator and create my own TV shows, movies, webseries, novels, comics... I don't know what, but I know I want to create art, be recognized for good work and be remembered long after my physical shell wears out.

I look like this (more or less):
Yes, I draw. here is my DeviantART account.
I also make AMVs. here is my YouTube

Quotes to live by (I consider myself a collector of good quotes):

"In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move."
~Douglas Adams, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe

"Freedom is a cage in which the bars are farther away than you care to fly"
~Poul Anderson, The People of the Wind

"Life isn’t divided into genres. It’s a horrifying, romantic, tragic, comical, science-fiction cowboy detective novel. You know, with a bit of pornography if you're lucky."
~Alan Moore

"Jesus is a cool guy. When he's with my mom, he likes to be so cool."

"John Freeman was fraid for first time. He didnt want nothing to happen to Henry Freeman because Henry Freeman was John Freeman saw Combines start to run like monsters to humens and Henry Freeman and saw Henry Freeman and humens run like brave to Combines."
~squirrelking, Halflife Fulllife Consequences: Free Man

"There's nothing wrong with reliance; with trust; with friendship. Leaning on all the others who love you, that's not a bad thing. You don't need to stand alone. People aren't meant to.
It's not a weakness. It's a strength: to have enough faith in someone else to know they're going to catch you; to be brave enough to let yourself fall.
Yes, by all means, find yourself. Make yourself stronger, better, happier, healthier. But you don't need to do it alone. We're there for you, if you need us. Relying on other people will not make you weak, will never make you anything but stronger."
~Emily L.

"You think that killing people might make them like you but it doesn't. It just makes people dead."
~Voldemort, A Very Potter Musical Act, 2 Part 9

"If i win, I'm a prodigy. If I loose, then I'm crazy. That's the way history is written."
~Artimis, Artimis Fowl

"Being a soldier isn't just following orders, it's following those orders in the service of a higher cause. When that cause is betrayed, we're not soldiers anymore, just pieces on a chess board dying for the wrong reason."
~General Sam Carter, Deus Ex

~Carl Sagan

"It is common experience that a problem difficult at night is resolved in the morning after the committee of sleep has worked on it"
~John Steinbeck

"Well, Sonny," I said gently, "you know people can't always do exactly what they want to do-"
"No, I don't know that," said Sonny, surprising me. "I think people ought to do what they want to do, what else are they alive for?"
~James Baldwin, Sonny's Blues

~Rahm Emanuel, ending a phone call

"How can I thank you, mysterious black-clad hunk of the night thing?' 'No need, little lady. Your tears of gratitude are enough for me.' 'But there must be some way I can show my appreciation!' 'No. Helping those in need's my job. And, workin' up a load of sexual tension, and prancing away like a magnificent poof is truly thanks enough.' 'I understand. I have a nephew who's gay, so-' '-gasp!-Say no more! Evil's still afoot. And I'm almost out of that nancy-boy hair gel I like so much. Quickly! to the Angel-mobile! Away!"
~Spike (mocking Angel), Angel

"Tell me one thing,' said Harry. 'Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?'
Dumbledore beamed at him, and his voice sounded loud and strong in Harry's ears even though the bright mist was descending again, obscuring his figure.
'Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?'"
~JK Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
